Highland Health and Social Care Services help people from all walks of life, as well as their families or carers. Health and Social Care in Highland provides help and assistance in many situations arising due to illness, disability, old age or poverty.

We are looking for motivated & enthusiastic individuals who will be part of a multidisciplinary team working with patients in their own homes to provide holistic care. Your primary responsibility will be to assist with enabling people to maintain their independence at home and supporting people after they have left hospital. The post holders need to be flexible and able to use their own initiative. The post-holders will provide high standards of patient care in support of the team to ensure delivery of a high-quality service to the local community.

Experience not required, as full training and induction will be given. Opportunities to complete your SVQ in Health & Social Care, and the possibility of further career progression

A driving licence is essential for this post and applicants should have access to their own vehicle for work purposes, travel expenses available. There may be access to pool vehicles in rural areas.

These are bank posts working on an as and when basis and the shifts available are 07.00 -11.00, 07.00 – 14.00, 08.00 – 12.00, 11.00 – 14.00, 17.00 – 22.00 or as per service requirements.

This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Heath and Care Worker visa. NHS Highland is unable to provide candidates with a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
