Driver Hire Newcastle & Sunderland - Safety Technician Role

Driver Hire Newcastle & Sunderland is seeking a safety technician for a client in South Tyneside on a temp-to-perm basis for the right candidate.

Responsibilities include:

1. Conducting comprehensive safety checks, including testing, maintenance, and calibration of hire and customer-owned equipment, ensuring all documentation is completed both physically and digitally.
2. Managing workloads, prioritising tasks efficiently.
3. Maintaining workshop and equipment, ensuring availability of core hire equipment and stock of spare parts.
4. Supporting customers and national teams via phone and email.
5. Attending training courses as required.
6. Raising purchase orders, quoting customers, and organising distribution.

Full training on equipment and systems will be provided in-house and by manufacturers for official certification.

Candidate requirements:

• High IT literacy
• Experience in hire and survey industry (beneficial)
• Results-driven with the ability to work under pressure
• Motivated, with a desire to learn and solve problems
• Good communication skills and team-oriented
• Full UK driving licence preferred

Working hours are Monday – Friday, 07:30 – 17:00.

Salary is competitive and based on experience.
