Job description

  1. To work as a Nurse Practitioner, as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare team within the FNC+
  2. To work as a Band 6 Nurse Practitioner to clinically assess & review patients via telephone or video consultation. This may include patient referrals from GPs, SAS, NHS 24, Carehomes, Prisons, assessing and prescribing via PGD, formulating appropriate management plans including direction of care or escalation to more senior clinicians.
  3. Liaise with staff in service
  4. Report to FNC+ management team as appropriate and participate in working groups to improve patient care
  5. Quarterly rotation to other services to maintain clinical skills and competence

Additional Information Specific to the Role

  1. Rotational shift pattern, 24/7
  2. Ability to formulate clinical management plans within scope of practice, or escalate as appropriate.
  3. Clinical Assessment level 10 (or equivalent) is essential. Study time will be supported for staff who currently do not possess this, but a commitment to study and complete must be agreed at interview. Full-time hours are essential during the study period.

What you'll need to bring
  1. Registered Nurse with current revalidation and NMC Registration.
  2. Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level.
  3. Graduate Certificate in Urgent Care or equivalent
  4. Mints Major / Minor Injury practitioner / or Emergency Nurse Practitioner qualification
  5. Postgraduate expertise within the speciality/area of practice demonstrating the required breadth of knowledge to lead safety effectively and efficiently.
  6. Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within Minor injuries.
  7. Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies, and procedures ensuring leadership within this area.

Please note: a full UK/EU/EEA driving licence is required for applicable vacancies.

  1. Demonstrable post-registration experience
  2. Evidence of audit and evaluation of new initiatives
Contract details

Permanent, various hours. For part-time roles, the salary will be pro-rata.

Location and Working Pattern

Based in FNC+ department within Kirklands - NHSL Headquarters. The working pattern involves various hours, 12-hour shifts, over 7 days, 24-hour coverage.
