Early Years Group Leader - Summer - Sevenoaks, Kent
Hours of work: 08:30 - 17:30
Salary: £421.52 - £628.71 per week, dependent on age, experience, and qualifications.
(Contracts for February Half Term will be issued based on 2023 wage levels. 2024 wage levels will be effective from 1st April.)
Reportable to: Early Years Manager, Camp Manager, Area Manager, and Central Office

Early Years Group Leader Duties
- Implement the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Assist with setting up and maintaining an inviting, tidy base room with all equipment stored safely.
- Follow policies and procedures to ensure a safe and fun environment for children.
- Deliver activities according to the planned timetable, ensuring variety and engagement.
- Work collaboratively with staff to facilitate sessions.
- Act as the children's Key Worker, managing information exchange regarding their experiences.
- Ensure children's needs are met through active supervision and attention during all times.
- Use resources effectively to plan and deliver age-appropriate activities with enthusiasm.
- Encourage participation while adhering to OFSTED guidelines.
- Get to know each child's interests and incorporate them into activities.
- Take responsibility for welfare and safeguarding.
- Ensure safe use of all equipment.
- Facilitate development through Explore and Play sessions.
Requirements
- Working towards or holding a relevant childcare qualification.
- Knowledge and experience of the EYFS.
- At least 18 years old by the start date.
- Legal eligibility to work in the UK.
- Satisfactory references.
- Enthusiastic, caring, organized, with excellent communication skills and initiative.
- Ability to adapt to challenges in a childcare setting.
- Enhanced DBS check or existing on the Update Service.
- Attend a Virtual Assessment if new to Barracudas.
- Complete annual Online Training.
- Attend Induction Training, likely within 7 days before camp begins.
- Assist with camp pack-up at the end.
Additional Responsibilities
- Follow health and safety protocols diligently.
- Organize activities suitable for your qualifications and skills.
- Encourage children to try new activities as per the timetable.
- Maintain children’s safety, knowing their whereabouts and behavior.
- Adhere to camp systems, including registration, collection, and safety guidelines.
- Promote a healthy lifestyle and hygiene.
- Report child protection concerns to senior staff or designated persons.
- Make reasonable adjustments for children with additional needs.
- Support Skills Builder sessions if staffing allows.
- Support swimming sessions, bringing swimwear and a spare T-shirt.
- Perform other duties as required within your role.
