Job Title: Lead Auditor

The role
As a Lead Auditor, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Continually improving the excellent compliance and quality management frameworks and to be part of a key function in the UK Military Safety & Assurance Team.

Day-to-day, you'll have the following responsibilities:

  • Carry out audits of LAFT 2 contract sites, sub-contractors and suppliers to a pre-approved audit programme.
  • Assess, approve, and maintain a list of sub-contractors and suppliers in liaison with the procurement manager.
  • Develop and promote a continual improvement culture and deputise for the LAFT 2 Quality Manager in the event of absence.
  • Implement business improvement programmes. Including working with LAFT 2 Quality Manager for proposed Exposition amendments
  • Ensure Company Health, Safety and Environmental procedures are always implemented and complied with.
This role is full time and can be based at any of our LAFT sites, however our head office is based at RAF Cranwell. This role is also a hybrid role with a mixture of working from home and working onsite at one of our LAFT sites and will therefore require significant travel to achieve the audit plan.

Essential experience of the Lead Auditor:
  • Engineering background with broad base Aviation QA experience working with public or private commercial organisations.
  • Current Human Factors trained and knowledge of error management methods
  • Working knowledge and use of IT and the Internet
Qualifications for the Lead Auditor:
  • Member of the Chartered Quality Institution (CQI), or equivalent in experience
  • IRCA Lead Auditor Trained to ISO 9001:2015 Standard inc relevant knowledge of CAA & MRP Part 145 and ISO 9001:2015 in an auditing role.
  • Full driving license
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
