About the Role:

Our Environmental Team is expanding, and we seek an experienced environmental professional with extensive experience in the Energy and Renewables sector. The role involves managing environmental compliance and sustainability efforts related to Development Consent Orders (DCOs) for renewable energy projects like wind and solar.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop client relationships with the Sector Director for Energy
  • Engage in business development to secure new opportunities
  • Manage a team of EIA practitioners in project delivery
  • Lead coordination, preparation, and submission of DCOs and related applications
  • Collaborate with project teams, legal, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance
  • Monitor application progress and liaise with authorities
  • Ensure projects meet environmental standards and regulations
  • Prepare environmental reports, EIAs, HRAs, and other documentation
  • Work with internal teams and stakeholders to implement sustainable practices
  • Contribute to sustainability goals by reducing environmental impacts
  • Stay informed on emerging environmental policies and renewable technologies

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

Qualification:

  • Environmental Science, Renewable Energy, or similar degree
  • Member of relevant professional body (e.g., IEMA)
  • Chartered Environmentalist or Scientist (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Proven experience with DCOs and regulatory frameworks in energy/infrastructure projects
  • Experience working with government agencies, local authorities, and community engagement (Preferred)

Skills:

  • Effective communication and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Collaborative team player with relationship-building skills
  • Ability to lead and provide direction within teams
  • Full UK driver’s license
  • Experience with environmental procurement and supply chain collaboration (Preferred)
