Job description

To produce a consistently high-quality product in line with production paperwork, whilst maintaining alignment with quality, cost, and delivery. To be certified as competent in the required skills as identified by the area skills matrix. To undertake production activities within the required timescale in line with the production plan. To embrace change with a positive mindset.

Responsibilities

1. Work as a member of an AIT Operations team to produce items conforming to all quality requirements according to the production plan.
2. Follow LDS (local document system) describing methods and procedures, complying with standard processes, specific area requirements, and health and safety standards.
3. Promote and adhere to Cleanroom Regulations, local health and safety requirements, and 5S policy within the work area.
4. Report progress to Lead Technician / Team Lead as required and contribute to shop floor meetings.
5. Maintain 5S disciplines and participate in continuous improvement activities.
6. Support trainees within the department when needed.
7. Be flexible and mobile across MAIT operational teams, supporting based on skills and workload.
8. Work off-site occasionally, both in the UK and abroad, as required.
9. Participate in shift handovers, providing inputs for job progression.
10. Attend and complete training set by management.

Daily tasks include assembly and final assembly of aluminium composite panels, such as:

1. Inserting panels with correct mechanical fasteners.
2. Potting inserts.
3. Bonding brackets, equipment, and inserts using various adhesives per specifications.
4. Producing work to quality standards and drawing specifications.
5. Maintaining health & safety disciplines in the composite area.
6. Performing self-inspections.
7. Reading and understanding detailed engineering drawings and procedures.
8. Using hand and air tools effectively.
9. Adhering to all company health & safety procedures.
10. Meeting high tolerance requirements, typically better than 0.05mm.

Skill Set

• Experience in manual handling roles.

• Initiative and previous relevant experience.

• Relevant apprenticeship or NVQ qualification.
