ABOUT THE ROLE
The Senior Pastry Chef will work in the Patisserie production team. While not strictly a management role, they will be the most senior Pastry Chef in the team.
SALARY: 14.50 - 14.95 per hour
Generally Monday-Friday shifts (9 hours between 5:00 and 17:00). Weekend work may be required during peak periods, usually around Christmas, shared rotationally among the team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Food
- Contribute to producing award-winning, market-leading organic cakes, biscuits, puddings, and other Patisserie items.
- Ensure high-quality products through continuous improvement.
- Be directly involved in all Patisserie product production, leading by example.
- Implement processes for food safety and traceability, in line with the Daylesford Quality Management System.
Operations
- Prepare, weigh, and measure ingredients for production.
- Ensure accurate mixing, baking, and finishing of all products.
- Lead by example within the team.
- Participate fully in all Patisserie operations, from ingredient intake to dispatch.
- Maintain high standards and minimize wastage during baking duties.
- Ensure a safe workplace, complying with H&S regulations.
Numbers
- Share responsibility for P&L, driving sales and reducing waste.
- Contribute to order fulfillment rate of over 98%.
- Manage stock levels and initiate replenishment when needed.
- Assist in audits and ensure legal compliance.
People
- Complete mandatory training on time.
- Support onboarding and training of new hires.
- Propose efficiency improvements in equipment, processes, or staffing.
- Communicate effectively about recipes, procedures, and operational needs.
- Align with the company's social and environmental sustainability goals.
