Service Technician – Automotive

We are looking for a GM Certified Service Technician to join our growing team! The right candidate will have a strong service technician background that is ASE & GM Certified, but we are willing to train the right person. To succeed at our dealership, you need solid skills and ethics. We also know that to retain good technicians, a dealership must treat them well by paying competitively and offering opportunities for learning and advancement. If you love diagnosing and repairing vehicles while maintaining a positive attitude, let’s talk! No Weekends!

Job Responsibilities

1. Examine and diagnose vehicles
2. Discuss repairs with shop foreman or service advisor
3. Communicate additional service requests to the service advisor
4. Plan work in cooperation with shop foreman
5. Provide labor estimates to the service advisor
6. Monitor repair times and update the service advisor
7. Maintain adherence to dealership policies on vehicle care and operation
8. Complete documentation for client repairs
9. Assist in mentoring technician trainees
10. Attend company and factory training
11. Keep current with factory technical bulletins
12. Follow federal, state, and local regulations (such as hazardous waste disposal)

Qualifications

1. 2+ years of Service Technician experience
2. High school diploma or equivalent
3. GM or ASE Certification
4. Previous experience at a GM dealership is preferred
5. B level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical, and Engine Repair
6. Dexterity and steady hand-eye coordination
7. Mechanical troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
8. Basic computer skills
9. Positive, friendly attitude and eagerness to learn
10. Ability to work in a dynamic environment
11. Team player with effective collaboration skills
12. Ability to learn new technology, repair, and service procedures
13. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
