Job Overview

The role of the Pharmacy Support Officer (QA) is varied, ensuring you'll be engaged and never bored. You will work within the Quality Assurance area of Pharmacy alongside the Aseptic unit, a specialized clean area where injectable products are manufactured, including chemotherapy treatments and diagnostic tests.

You will be involved in both in the Aseptic Cleanrooms, conducting microbiological and physical environmental monitoring, and within the QA area, performing temperature monitoring and data entry.

Main Duties of the Job
  • Environmental monitoring of the aseptic unit
  • Disinfecting and transferring work into clean room hatches and isolators
  • Data entry of paper and electronic records
  • Daily and monthly temperature monitoring
  • Approval and release of aseptic consumables
  • Approval and release of rental laundry
  • Filing prescriptions and documentation according to local policies and procedures
  • Disposing of different types of waste, following local policies and procedures

The Aseptic Unit is a specialized clean area within Pharmacy where injectable products are manufactured, including treatments for chemotherapy and diagnostic purposes. The service also supplies ready-made chemotherapy, intravenous nutrition, and other products to hospital patients. The team comprises Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Senior Pharmacy Support Officers, and Pharmacy Support Officers, all vital to delivering high-quality medicinal products to patients.
