A leading company is seeking a Sr Marine Methods Engineer to develop construction methods for offshore projects in the North Sea. The role involves coordinating marine construction methods, ensuring design assumptions are documented, and leading teams in a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in offshore construction, effective communication skills, and proficiency in relevant software tools.
About the role
SZC is owned by two shareholders, Electricité de France (EDF) and His Majesty's Government (HMG). The shareholders hold their investment through NNB Holdings Company (SZC) Limited. The shareholdings will change over time.
The shareholders will fund SZC until Financial Close through equity, following the approved schedule and budget. SZC's business involves designing, financing, constructing, commissioning, operating, maintaining, and decommissioning the nuclear power plant and related infrastructure at Sizewell C in Suffolk. This includes activities related to hydrogen, direct air capture, and desalination.
The current development phase aims to finalize the Capital Raise Plan, complete equity and debt raises, agree on core supply chain contracts, and obtain necessary regulatory permits and licenses for construction.
Before the government investment decision, SZC operated as part of EDF's Nuclear Development business, staffed by EDF colleagues and contractors, now transitioning to direct employment. The organization is establishing itself to deliver a new nuclear power plant, from investment to decommissioning.
The construction program is based on the technical and commercial model of Hinkley Point C, with EDF serving as a key nuclear capability provider within the UK.
Key stakeholders include HMG, government departments, EDF, financial investors, regulators, alliance partners, and local communities.
We seek a Sr Marine Methods Engineer to develop construction methods and temporary works for offshore installation of reinforced concrete structures in the North Sea. Responsibilities include coordinating the development, evaluation, and selection of marine construction methods, and ensuring design assumptions and temporary load states are systematically documented and socialized.
You will sequence work packages, prioritize critical temporary works, coordinate with design consultants and supply chain, and develop construction sequences and methodologies related to offshore construction activities.
Additional duties involve supporting supply chain and construction teams, defining functional and performance requirements, and ensuring asset designs align with construction methods.
