The Institute for Communication Systems (ICS), home of the 5GIC & 6GIC, is looking to recruit a Research Fellow to work on physical layer techniques for future wireless communications.
The successful candidates will be required to have research experience in wireless communication systems design in university and/or industry environments. Their areas of specialization for these two posts are air interface algorithm design and software/hardware development, respectively.
ICS is the largest academic research institute in Europe specialising in all aspects of ICT (Information and Communication Technologies). It is home to over 200 researchers with expertise in all communication and broadcasting systems and has developed state-of-the-art large-scale testbeds for research and innovation, supported by excellent lab and computing facilities.
Established in 2012, 5GIC is the world’s first dedicated centre researching end-to-end aspects of 5G, working closely with leading academic institutes and industrial partners worldwide. In November 2020, 6GIC was launched, focusing on research in 5G+ and 6G for 2030+.
Applicants should have a good honors degree in wireless communications or electronic engineering. Proven research experience is preferred. Candidates should have a track record of publications, strong problem-solving and analytical skills, be proactive, collaborative, and self-motivated. The successful candidate will work with other researchers to specify, design, and implement the systems under investigation.
