Locum Housing Litigation Lawyer – Part-time - Remote Working – £60 Umbrella – South West

Venn Group’s specialist Legal team is working with an established Local Authority in the South West seeking to appoint an experienced Housing Litigation Lawyer.

This is a part-time, remote position for an initial duration of 3 months, with potential for extension. The ideal candidate will have recent experience working within a Local Authority and a broad understanding of Litigation to manage a varied caseload.

Responsibilities include:

• Handling all legal aspects of Housing Litigation, including housing possessions, ASB, injunctions, homelessness, and housing disrepair.
• Liaising with legal colleagues and providing guidance to staff.
• Managing a diverse caseload related to Housing Management and preparing cases for court.
• Providing legal advice on matters such as homelessness, housing disrepair, debt recovery, possession proceedings, injunctions, anti-social behaviour, traveller encampments, and regulatory prosecutions; including court representation.
• Advising clients on education-related issues, particularly challenges to SEND and EHC assessments.
• Supporting junior staff and legal assistants within the department.
