HEALTH & SAFETY MANAGER

Organisation Information:

Bouygues Travaux Publics (TP) and Laing O'Rourke, two of Europe's most dynamic engineering and construction specialists, are working together in a joint venture named BYLOR to deliver the main civil engineering works at Hinkley Point C (HPC) worth over £2.8 billion.

Key responsibilities and specific accountabilities:

1. Project Management - COMPETENT: Demonstrates the ability to coach and support the Project Management function in order to deliver the HSE project requirements.
2. Commercial - ADVANCED: Engages the supply chain in implementing project HSE requirements.
3. Client and Stakeholder Management - ADVANCED: Proposes actions in response to changes in client and stakeholder needs and expectations.
4. People Management - ADVANCED: Provides coaching and development input to others to enable performance and capability development.
5. Technical Knowledge:
1. Setting Standards & Ensuring Compliance - EXPERT: Researches and understands the holistic and global challenges.
2. Audit & Inspection - EXPERT: Schedules and leads the high level business assurance programme.
3. Accident & Incident Investigation & Reporting - EXPERT: Leads accident or incident investigations.
4. Statistical Reporting & Analysis - EXPERT: Builds upon existing platforms for statistical analysis and reporting.
5. Coaching, Facilitating and Training - ADVANCED: Develops and delivers specialist training programmes.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Able to ensure adequate resource levels are recruited and employed.
• Has experience at managing geographical resource and/or dedicated functional support.
• Understands how to manage people and put them to work.
• Builds solid relationships with stakeholders and can deliver on customer strategic and tactical requirements.

All positions with Bylor are employed directly with either Laing O'Rourke or Bouygues Travaux Public and include competitive salaries, private medical insurance, company pension schemes and annual holiday allowance. Unless stated otherwise, all positions are based at Hinkley Point C in Somerset.
