Job description

The teamNexSmart's team is composed of some of the most creative minds in Fintech with a proven track record to analyze market structure inefficiencies, design solutions to create better markets, and develop and distribute these solutions in a sound business model. The team has accumulated over the years several critical breakthroughs:

  1. First electronic reporting of clearing positions on the Web
  2. First Listed Derivatives electronic trading system
  3. First Execution Management System
  4. First "one-to-many" FIX network
  5. First SAAS base exchange infrastructure
  6. First integrated electronic Fixed Income market

Most business people in the team have knowledge across asset classes of the market structures, trading models, and settlement systems that underpin the activity of the large Buy side and Sell side, and have a deep understanding of the Buy side workflows and compliance requirements in terms of best execution and clearing. The developers on the team are experienced with multi-year experience in mission-critical software development and have participated in the development of some of the most important pieces of software that enable the financial world today.

We're looking for a talented Systems Engineer who has the experience necessary to help build out our existing infrastructure and troubleshoot problems as they arise. We're a growing company with a team of highly dedicated IT professionals who give their all to help our enterprise flourish. The ideal candidate for this position can prioritize mission-critical tasks and coordinate the construction and expansion of our systems so updates and other maintenance tasks don't interfere with daily operations. We're interested in automating as many of our processes as possible to reduce the potential for human error.

Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor existing systems to ensure structural integrity
  2. Oversee the development and installation of new hardware and software
  3. Install and configure operating systems and other software and routinely test installed software for glitch detection and other issues
  4. Provide technical direction to IT support staff
  5. Ensure constant availability of technical resources
  6. Design and implement security systems and redundant backups to maintain data safety
  7. Write custom scripts to reduce the need for human intervention

Required skills and expertise:

  1. Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering or related field required (Master's preferred)
  2. Networking knowledge
  3. Ready to work on various projects
  4. Team player
  5. Ability to collaborate and be a strong team member
  6. Excellent problem solver with the ability to take initiative
  7. Passion for learning and sharing new technology
  8. Strong analytical and communication skills
