Job description

Conveyancing Assistant required to join our busy and well-respected legal conveyancing company in Chelmsford. As a Conveyancing Assistant, you will be responsible for general administrative duties, client care, and the legal process as directed by your Fee Earner. It is essential for this Conveyancing Assistant opportunity that you possess some conveyancing experience and have strong communication skills across all channels with Developers, Solicitors, Lenders, Clients, and Colleagues as part of daily operations, ensuring the company values and culture are supported.

The Role

  • Sending initial letters, documentation, and introductory emails to clients
  • Managing email traffic and phone calls daily and also covering additional emails and calls during colleagues’ absence
  • Maintain effective communication with clients via phone and email throughout the transaction to ensure they are kept up to date with their transaction
  • Build rapport with site staff, Solicitors, Brokers, and Estate Agents to ensure the Company reputation is maintained
  • Carrying out all electronic ID checks for all persons related to the case
  • Carry out OS2 and Bankruptcy searches and ensuring these remain in date
  • Create and send Mortgage & Contract Reports
  • Requesting searches and management packs as required
  • Support in exchanging contracts and setting up of completions of the transactions
  • Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm

The Person

  • Must possess at least one year’s previous conveyancing experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Professional work attitude
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • The ability to work as part of a team as well as on their own
