We are currently recruiting Children & Family Support Workers to join our Corporate Parenting Team. The roles support children, young people, and their families in line with the Children Services Plan for North Lanarkshire and The Promise (The Independent Care Review). As part of our Children & Families team, and in partnership with other agencies, you will develop a relationship-based approach with children, young people, and their families. As we implement and embed our signs of safety approach, we aim to strengthen family support for care-experienced children to maintain their natural networks. The posts will involve outreach support for children and families, requiring flexibility including evenings and weekends.

Children & Family Support Workers develop and implement support on individual, group, and family levels, and prepare reports for assessments, plans, and supports. Excellent communication skills—oral, listening, and written—are essential. We seek someone self-motivated, enthusiastic, and solution-focused, with compassion and a commitment to working with children, young people, and families to achieve positive outcomes.

You will join our passionate corporate parenting team, dedicated to working with children, young people, and families, building on family strengths. Experience supporting children and families who have experienced trauma and loss, promoting their wellbeing and potential, is required.

Qualifications include an SVQ Level 3 or HNC in Social Care or equivalent. You must work towards an SVQ Level 3 or HNC if not already possessed, within a specified timeframe. Extended experience with vulnerable young people and families, and knowledge of social work roles, are desirable.

You must become a full PVG scheme member before starting.
