Job description

T H WHITE’s Groundcare division provides sales, parts, service, and hire of groundcare and forestry equipment to professional users.

Apprenticeship Overview: Apprenticeships can lead to a role as a qualified groundcare machinery engineer, with potential progression into sales or parts departments. Study is conducted at college on a block release basis, leading to an NVQ in Landbased Engineering.

Practical Experience: Gain experience in electronic and hydraulic systems, maintain grass cutting heads on various machines, and undertake on-site work at private estates, golf courses, and local authorities. Health & safety training is also provided.

Specialised product training from suppliers is available, along with registration on the Land-based Technician Accreditation scheme.

Hours: 40 hours a week, subject to working hours regulations.

Key Duties: Apprenticeships typically last 4 years, combining college-based knowledge with on-the-job practical experience. Training includes forklift operation, specialist product training from suppliers, and health and safety.

The Ideal Applicant: This route is suited for students who prefer a hands-on learning approach. Many managers, sales representatives, and department heads within the company started via apprenticeships.
