Job description

Engineering Lead (Nights)

£54,000 per annum + pension

An exciting opportunity to join a successful award-winning market leader, who has supplied high-quality products into the food and FMCG sector.

Salary & Benefits:

  • A starting salary of up to £54,000

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Experience of working to retailer-standard engineering standards to support food safety and operator safety.
  • Scheduling maintenance of all machinery, including servicing, repairs, and inspections to a high standard, adhering to record keeping and hygienic hand back to production.
  • Operate and maintain service plant - boilers, chilled water, air, effluent treatment.
  • Involvement with new design and upgrades, installation, and movements of existing machines.
  • Involvement in loss reduction and efficiency improvement activities with production operators.
  • Follow GMP and adopt a 'clean as you go' culture.
  • Always comply with Meadow policies and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Multi-skilled & great team working ethic.
  • Recognised engineering accreditation electrical with optional mechanical qualification (recognised apprenticeship, ONC or City and Guilds or 17th/18th edition IEE). Where there are training needs identified, we can assess at interview and remedy post-probation potentially.
  • Background of working in a UK retailer or BRCGS accredited food factory preferred but will consider non-food background if able to follow good food hygiene principles.
  • Confident in both working alone, alongside skilled operators and within wider engineering team.
  • Be able to communicate at all levels making time to listen and value opinions of others.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills plus computer literate.
