My Client is recruiting for an M+E Project Engineer (ideally Electrically bias) in the Water Sector.

Location: Midlands - ideally Shropshire with Hybrid and site working.

Responsibilities include working within a team to deliver projects through design/build/commissioning phases, assisting Project and Site Managers with programme and budget, and managing site M+E activities in line with the project schedule. The role involves site, office, and home working, with a focus on Health and Safety compliance during the project lifecycle.

Delivery of MEICA projects within the Water Treatment Industry, primarily with a mechanical/hydraulic background and awareness of electrical and ICA elements. Projects span the UK for major water utility companies, covering both clean water and sewage treatment, across non-infra and interfacing infra projects.

Responsibilities include:
  • Assisting with management of engineering disciplines and advising the Project Manager on progress.
  • Reviewing method statements and risk assessments.
  • Providing technical briefings and promoting best practices.
  • Ensuring materials are correctly specified and scheduled.
  • Implementing inspection and surveillance regimes.
  • Providing site support to ensure timely decision-making and issue resolution.
  • Supporting site operational activities, including procurement, H&S documentation, installation supervision, and commissioning.
Safety Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory legislation and company standards.
  • Completing safety inspections and closing actions.
  • Participating in safety meetings and preparing safety documentation.
  • Identifying training needs and maintaining project documentation.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Proven MEICA (preferably EICA bias) project experience.
  • Familiarity with control systems, valves, instrumentation, and ancillary equipment.
  • Knowledge of treatment processes, water movement, and chemical dosing.
  • Hydraulic understanding of water distribution and pumping systems.
  • Proficiency in MS Project, Word, Excel, and other Microsoft packages.
  • Willingness to stay and work away as required.
  • Certifications: EUSR Water Hygiene, CSCS Managers Card, SMSTS or equivalent.
