Job Description: Our Client is seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Lecturer in Quantity Surveying to join our esteemed faculty within the School of Architecture and the Built Environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, conducting impactful research, and engaging in community and industry collaboration to enhance the student experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Teaching and Learning: Deliver engaging and innovative lectures, seminars, and practical sessions in Quantity Surveying and related disciplines. Develop and review curriculum materials and assessment instruments to enhance educational outcomes. Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects, providing mentorship and guidance to students.
  2. Research and Scholarship: Engage in scholarly research activities in Quantity Surveying, aiming to publish findings in reputable journals and conferences. Contribute to the university's research priorities and collaborative projects, securing funding where possible.
  3. Academic Leadership: Participate in academic leadership activities, including course management and quality assurance. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance departmental performance and contribute to strategic planning.
  4. External Engagement: Foster relationships with industry stakeholders and professional bodies to enhance the relevance of the curriculum. Participate in outreach activities to promote the university and its programs to prospective students and partners.
  5. Administrative Duties: Undertake administrative responsibilities related to the management of the department and the academic programs. Contribute to committees and boards within the university, serving on panels as required.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A PhD or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
  • A strong background in quantity surveying practice and academia, with a proven record in teaching and research.
  • Membership or eligible for membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
