Are you a Band 7 or Band 8a First Contact Practitioner looking for a rewarding locum role in East London? We have an exciting opportunity based in a dynamic GP surgery setting, offering great pay and flexibility!
Job Title: First Contact Practitioner (FCP) – Band 7/8a
Location: East London
Duration: Ongoing Contract
Schedule: Full or part-time – flexible days & hours
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: Ongoing (potential to extend)
Rate of Pay: Competitive – Flexible rates available
What You’ll Be Doing:
Join our team as a First Contact Practitioner and play a vital role in managing MSK presentations and improving access to timely care within a GP practice. In this role, you will:
Perform advanced clinical assessments of patients with undifferentiated conditions
Initiate, evaluate, and modify care plans with an evidence-based approach
Work autonomously while collaborating closely with GPs and the wider primary care team
Support patient self-management and offer expert MSK advice
Accurately document clinical findings and outcomes
Requirements & Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, you will need:
A current and valid HCPC registration (or NMC/GMC where applicable)
Previous experience working as an FCP or within a primary care/MSK setting
Completion of Stage 1 or 2 FCP Roadmap to Practice (or working towards it)
Strong decision-making, communication, and patient-centred care skills
Ability to work independently while being part of a multidisciplinary team
Working Hours & Contract Duration:
This is a flexible locum opportunity requiring availability between Monday to Friday, with part-time and full-time options. The initial contract is ongoing with a strong likelihood of extension, depending on performance and service demand.
