You have an exciting opportunity to join a new service providing healthcare to a small group of men within the Immigration estate.
The Swinderby Residential Short-Term Holding Facility accommodates up to 39 adult men for up to 5 days. As part of a small team, your role will involve offering holistic care to this vulnerable group, including managing immediate healthcare concerns, continuing prescribed medications, and facilitating safe discharges. An essential aspect of your role is to provide emotional support during a challenging time.

Please note: Applicants will need to pay for their DBS check, with costs deducted from salary after appointment. The DBS application costs £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced). Additionally, enrolling in the DBS Update Service is encouraged, with an annual fee of £16.
The Primary Healthcare Team offers a broad range of services, including initial assessments, clinical triage, emergency response, minor illness and injury care, and health promotion. Nursing in a secure environment provides a unique opportunity to deliver a positive, nurse-led health experience to patients often facing poor health outcomes.
Working within a small team, you will make a tangible difference by providing healthcare services to patients who may not otherwise access essential healthcare in the community. We empower patients to become more aware of their health needs, offering screenings, vaccinations, and support to stabilize long-term conditions, alongside daily treatment for minor injuries and illnesses.
We support and develop our nursing staff to lead in areas of interest and offer additional training as needed. A supportive preceptorship package is available for newly qualified nurses.
You will collaborate closely with Home Office and Prison Officer colleagues to ensure high standards of safe, patient-centered healthcare.
