Job summary

A leading organization in early childhood education is seeking a Lead Practitioner to work full-time during term time. The role involves assisting in the management of nursery services and developing educational programs for children. Candidates should have an HNC in Childcare/Education and be willing to achieve a BA in Early Childhood Studies.

Qualifications

  • Significant working experience in early years education.
  • Eligible for registration as a Lead Practitioner with the Scottish Social Services Council.

Responsibilities

Job description

Based in Craigowl Primary, you will work full time, 37 hours, on a term-time basis only.

Requirements
  • You will have an HNC in Childcare/Education or equivalent and hold, or be willing to work towards and achieve, a BA in Early Childhood Studies or relevant advanced qualification within an agreed period.
  • You must be eligible for registration as a Lead Practitioner with the Scottish Social Services Council or be willing to achieve this.
Responsibilities
  • You will assist and, where necessary, deputise for the Head of the Nursery in the organisation and management of the service for the benefit of all children and the wider community.
  • You will work on your own initiative and as a team member, supporting colleagues in developing a flexible childcare and early education service that meets the needs of young children and their families within nursery policies and procedures.
The Individual
  • You will have significant working experience in early years education.
  • You will have experience working with parents and families and implementing suitable learning programmes for children.
  • You will be enthusiastic, committed, flexible, and respectful of confidentiality.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to employment.
