The Opportunity:

We are looking for a passionate individual to join us as a SEN Teacher. We welcome applications from experienced qualified SEN teachers (QTS or equivalent) as well as talented individuals who may be unqualified but possess a strong passion for supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and a desire to develop their skills in this rewarding area. Comprehensive support and professional development will be provided for unqualified candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

• Working with students across the school with a variety of special educational needs, including:
  • Learning Difficulties (e.g., Dyslexia, Dyspraxia)
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • ADHD
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
• Developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
• Providing differentiated instruction and support within the classroom.
• Delivering targeted interventions and small group support.
• Monitoring and assessing student progress and providing feedback.
• Liaising with parents, carers, and external agencies.
• Contributing to the school's SEN policy.
• Maintaining accurate records.
• Creating an inclusive learning environment.
• For unqualified candidates: a commitment to professional development and training.

The Ideal Candidate (Qualified):

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience working with students with SEND.
• Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong organisational skills.
• Commitment to inclusive education.

The Ideal Candidate (Unqualified):

• Strong academic background (degree in relevant field preferred).
• Experience working with children/young people (educational or support setting).
• Passion for supporting students with special educational needs.
