Job description

I am recruiting on behalf of a leading shipping and automotive haulier who are seeking a skilled HGV Mechanic to join their reputable and growing team in Kettering. This role involves servicing and maintaining a large fleet of HGV trucks from various manufacturers across all weight categories. The HGV Mechanic will have access to top quality tools and ongoing training to stay up to date with the latest vehicle advancements. This is an ideal role for an experienced HGV Mechanic looking to advance their career in vehicle maintenance.

HGV Mechanic Role Overview
  1. Conduct routine Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMI) and servicing of heavy commercial vehicles.
  2. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults efficiently.
  3. Work on both company owned and third party vehicles.
  4. Ensure all work is completed to legal and safety standards.
  5. Complete service records and documentation accurately.
  6. Work independently and unsupervised while maintaining high service standards.
  7. Liaise with fleet managers and customers to provide updates on vehicle status.
  8. Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
What I am looking for :
  1. Fully experienced in HGV Servicing and Maintenance.
  2. NVQ/IMI Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
  3. Strong HGV Mechanic diagnostic skills in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to confidently troubleshoot issues.
  4. Flexible to work independently and efficiently within a fast paced workshop and mobile environment.
