Position Overview

Ithaca Energy is accepting applications for JV Accountant (2), located in our Aberdeen Office.

Reporting to the Senior JV Accountant, the JV Accountants are the cornerstone of the finance line for Non-Operated/Project JV Assets. Responsible for providing internal stakeholders with relevant and timely business control and asset performance analysis and reporting based on external information from JV Partners.

Responsibilities
  • Finance focal point for Non-Operated/Project JV Assets
  • Perform a range of business analysis including cost accounting and cost controlling activities to report on JV Asset performance.
  • Build strong relationships with the Operator for Non-Operated licenses, ensuring appropriate challenge to JV partners.
  • Work closely with the JV Budget holders to provide financial analysis and support regarding budgets, billings, and reforecasts.
  • Manage year-to-date and full-year revised forecasts in collaboration with budget holders, considering the latest Operator information.
  • Handle all JV-related financial tasks such as financial presentations, attendance at JV committees, JV budget, JV billings, and regulatory reporting.
  • Serve as the main contact for all finance-related questions for the Non-Operated JV Asset.
  • Coordinate and validate monthly Non-Operated/Project JV billings, ensuring timely approval and payment in line with JOA.
  • Participate in internal and external audits as required.
  • Calculate month-end accruals for Non-Operated/Project JV assets.
  • Understand the financial requirements in JOA's and the associated internal DoA matrix.
  • Manage AFE approval process and cost tracking for JV Assets, ensuring correct accounting treatment.
  • Assist in developing the Joint Venture Accounting Function, streamlining and standardizing procedures, and engaging with other Accountants for knowledge sharing.
  • Maintain account reconciliations according to schedule, ensuring compliance with SOX requirements, and resolve outstanding issues.
  • Track expenditure against AFE's, reconcile billings to AFE and Budget/forecast, and challenge Operators/Project Managers when necessary.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Proven experience in a similar financial role within the Exploration & Production sector, with a solid understanding of E&P asset performance.
  • Technical knowledge of Exploration & Production accounting, including Standard Operating Accounting Procedures, to ensure fair asset expenditure, maximized reimbursements, and successful JV audits.
  • Ability to challenge and review financial data, highlighting anomalies to budget holders and JV Finance Teams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong prioritization skills and ability to meet monthly deadlines.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality work on time.
  • Proficiency in SAP is essential.
