Qualifications

  • Time served electrically biased Engineer.
  • Experience in PLCs, AC and DC drives, HMI/MMI, SCADA.
  • Experience in a high volume manufacturing environment.

Electrical Maintenance Technician (Dayshift) - Permanent

Salary: Circa £42,000 per year + Monthly On Call Allowance

Hours: 40 hours per week

Based on day shift within the Maintenance Engineering function, reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator, the successful candidate will be responsible for planning reactive and scheduled maintenance, plus assisting in project work and continuous improvement activities.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Administer, monitor, maintain, update and be responsible for the integrity of information and data on the CMMS (Agility).
  • Develop and drive action plans within the team to improve asset capability and contribute in achieving the position of number one in the industry.
  • Continually working to identify areas of growth and support to strive for excellence.
  • Ensure preventative maintenance is achieved and equipment is well maintained.
  • Undertaking reactive breakdown repair – Working to determine root cause.
  • Undertaking planned preventative maintenance activities as per maintenance schedules.
  • Involvement in project work: including installation and commissioning of new equipment, machine modifications, improvement works, etc.
  • Generating and implementing continuous improvement ideas.
  • Involvement in Six Sigma continuous improvement projects.
  • Maintaining equipment logs and shift handovers.
  • Working with / overseeing sub-contractors.
  • The ability to priorities and manage workloads in line with production and maintenance demands.
  • Confidently identifies and articulates issues when escalation is required.
  • Resolutions and interventions are implemented and communicated to key stakeholders.
  • Point of contact for maintenance activities.
  • Working on AC and DC drives, PLC control systems, HMI/MMI’s and general processing plant.
  • Support Shift Technicians & Fitters – including out of hours / call out and cover shifts when necessary.
  • Make safety number one priority at all times.
  • Permit to Work Systems.

Qualifications

  • Time served electrically biased Engineer.
  • Experience in PLC’s, AC and DC drives, HMI/MMI,SCADA etc with a strong ability to interrogate PLC coding is essential.
  • Experience in a high volume manufacturing environment is essential.
  • Ideally, a minimum of an HNC (or equivalent) in electrical/electronic engineering.
  • Experience in working in Hazardous areas is preferable.
  • Highly proactive and improvement orientated.
  • Excellent diagnostic skills.
  • Self-motivated, responsible, able to work well on own initiative and under pressure.
  • A flexible approach with a positive attitude, strong problem solving and communication skills.
  • Team player.
