Automation Service Engineer - Field Based - £55k

Your new company: Your new company is a leading engineering provider, supporting a wide range of industries including chemical, nuclear, oil & gas, pharma amongst others.

Your new role: In your new role as an automation service engineer, you will be supporting a range of clients across the UK, diagnosing faults on automated systems on a variety of PLC software. You will make minor modifications to PLC code and systems, including changing PLC cards, identifying and rectifying coding issues, and reading code to move sequences forward in order to continue production. Additionally, you will deliver small PLC / HMI / SCADA projects.

What you'll need to succeed:

  1. A degree or HND/HNC in Electrical / Electronic Engineering, Control Systems or a relevant discipline and/or completion of an engineering apprenticeship.
  2. Experience working within a commissioning or maintenance role, with the ability to fault find via multiple PLC manufacturers and types.
  3. Understanding of electrical systems.
  4. Desire to learn and support new technology/alternative control systems.
  5. Ability to connect to OS networks using products such as Profitrace to report on and diagnose network health, providing recommendations.
  6. Ability to attain security clearance such as SC.
  7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
