Job description

North Lincolnshire and Goole Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust requires a highly motivated Estates Maintenance Team Workshop Manager, based within the Estates departments at Diana Princess of Wales Hospital, Grimsby. The post is a proactive role within the Estates Maintenance & Engineering management team, providing a cost-effective, efficient, and compliant building services engineering maintenance service to ensure the Trust's built environment complies with legislation and good practice.

  1. Role Overview: The Maintenance Workshop Team Manager provides effective management and leadership for the in-house (direct labour) Estates Operational Maintenance Team. The principal objective is to manage and oversee the day-to-day supervision of the operational mechanical, electrical, building, and grounds maintenance team, ensuring planned preventative maintenance schedules are completed, additional work streams are coordinated and completed in a timely and cost-effective manner. The role involves utilizing computer-aided facilities management (CAFM) and NHS performance management platforms to maintain patient care environments in compliance with health, safety, fire acts, building maintenance legislation, NHS HTMs, HBNs, British Standards, and approved codes of practice.
  2. Key Responsibilities:
    • Lead and manage a team of multiskilled craftspersons, single trade craftspersons, and maintenance assistants.
    • Supervise all works related to planned preventative maintenance and repairs across the hospital site, including various properties and healthcare and commercial buildings.
    • Work with estates engineering officers and technicians to ensure all building fabrics, grounds, and gardens are maintained according to statutory requirements, NHS standards, and Trust policies.
    • Support clinical and patient teams by providing maintenance services that support healthcare delivery.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and policies to maintain a safe, clean, and functional environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
