As Product Development Engineering Delivery Lead, you will take responsibility for leading engineering delivery through design and development, and lead the technical team managing the design, development, testing, commissioning, and in-service support.

The Product Development Engineering Lead will be based at our Barnstaple site. This role offers flexible working arrangements.

The salary for this role is up to £72k, depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
  1. Direct Engineering responsibility for assigned Product(s).
  2. Meet performance and delivery targets of Ship & Fleet Protection Systems within agreed cost, time, and quality parameters.
  3. Collaborate closely with the Ship & Fleet Protection Product Technical Authority and Project Management team to define, review, and update project delivery plans.
  4. Support engineering team members with their projects and programmes related to the product.
  5. Support and contribute to performance reviews for team members reporting to different line managers.
  6. Prioritise, arbitrate, and de-conflict issues.
  7. Manage resources effectively to maximise staff productivity.
  8. Own the Product programme: Lead the definition of requirements.
  9. Identify and support the product development lifecycle.
  10. Support trials and testing of new product developments.
  11. Work with Project Managers to ensure proper planning for all projects.
  12. Ensure successful product integration and delivery.
  13. Understand complex problems and develop solutions.

The skills you need

The candidate should have strong leadership and people development skills, design experience meeting military, safety, and commercial standards including CE compliance, and produce high-quality documentation. A background in product development, especially within Ship & Fleet Protection products, is essential. Skills in managing data, reporting, and organisational abilities within cross-functional teams are required. Excellent IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office, are necessary, and experience with ERP systems, SharePoint, and document control is preferred.
