We are seeking a part-time Training Standards Officer (21 hours per week) to join the Learning Directorate at the Royal College of Pathologists. This role is essential in supporting our members by facilitating the maintenance of postgraduate curricula across seven pathology specialties and subspecialties, as well as ensuring compliance with GMC regulatory requirements.
Your responsibilities will include project managing quality assurance processes for training qualifications, reviewing and updating curricula, and providing regular reports to internal and external stakeholders. The role requires a strong administrator capable of planning and executing a timetable for curriculum reviews by committees, ensuring adherence to deadlines.
The Royal College of Pathologists is a professional membership organisation with charitable status, dedicated to the science and practice of pathology. It comprises Fellows, Diplomates, Affiliates, and trainees, supported by staff based in London.
The College has over 13,000 members worldwide, primarily doctors and scientists in hospitals and universities across the UK.
It oversees training in 17 pathology specialties, including cellular pathology, haematology, clinical biochemistry, and medical microbiology.
Many pathologists work directly with patients in hospitals and the community, playing a vital role in diagnosis, disease prevention, treatment, and monitoring. Examples include blood tests, cervical smears, and tissue biopsies.
