The Finance Data Assistant will be responsible for the processing, analysis, and reporting of financial data within the Finance Data team. Located in large modern offices in Chertsey, this role is crucial in supporting the financial operations of our Business Services. HYBRID: 2 days in the office, 3 from home per week.

Job Description

The Junior Data Analyst (Finance) - HYBRID

1. Support the production of reports on current/historical activity and all month-end and post-month-end financial activities.
2. Provide a range of product-level analysis to support discrepancies and decision-making.
3. Develop strong relationships with key internal and external personnel, including procurement, category sourcing, and Finance teams.
4. Track and report supplier/manufacturer data & rebates.
5. Understand available data sources and their integration.
6. Model complex commercial rebate & pricing structures, summarising findings for varied audiences (Finance, Account Management, Suppliers & Clients).
7. Understand the business commercial model & procurement deals.
8. Monitor & audit own work for accuracy and relevance.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Junior Data Analyst (Finance) - HYBRID should possess the following skills & experience:

Essential:

• Strong/intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
• Attention to detail, problem-solving, initiative, and reconciliation skills
• High numeric and analytical skills and diligence
• Comfortable working with complex spreadsheets
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written
• Ability to analyse, evaluate, and present information concisely
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Desirable:

• Good organisational skills
• Confidence in decision-making
• Experience with databases, managing manual data feeds, and developing in SQL
• Exposure to systems such as SQL (Access) & SAP

Note: Graduates with a numerical degree and some office-based work experience will also be considered.
