The University of Manchester seeks to appoint a three-year fixed-term Post-Doctoral Research Associate in Globalisation and Sustainable Global Value Chains. We welcome applications from candidates specializing in globalization, global value chains, and sustainability. The successful applicant will contribute to high-quality research and research-informed teaching that complements our existing clusters of activity.
The Research Associate will undertake independent and collaborative research, working closely with the incoming SEED Head of School, Professor Khalid Nadvi, and other members of the cross-disciplinary Global Production Networks, Labour and Trade research group based in the Global Development Institute (GDI). Responsibilities include preparing peer-reviewed publications, applying for research funding, and some teaching at postgraduate and undergraduate levels within GDI’s programs on globalization, trade, and development.
Interviews will be held in July 2025.
Applicants should submit their CV, cover letter, an example of recent published output, and a brief research proposal (no more than 1500 words) outlining their research plans for the appointment period. These should be combined into a single file not exceeding 1MB.
