A leading company in the food industry is seeking 2 multi-skilled engineering apprentices to join their team in Malton. The apprentices will gain hands-on experience in food factory production and site services while working under the guidance of experienced engineers. This role offers a chance to learn valuable skills and earn a Level 3 Engineering Technician Apprenticeship upon completion.

They wanted to create a fun and exciting brand that could be stocked within UK supermarkets and that made high quality handmade tofu accessible to all. In September 2016, The Tofoo Co. was born. Here at The Tofoo Company we believe in investing for the future. We are keen to recruit 2 multi skilled engineering apprentices to work within our engineering department and learn valuable skills from time served engineers and gain extensive experience working on a variety of food factory production and site services equipment.
The candidate will report to the Site Maintenance Manager who will direct the apprentice on the days activities. The candidates place of work will be The Tofoo Company, Rye Close, Malton, YO17 6YD. Normal hours of work will be 8am until 4pm, Monday to Friday with the opportunity for overtime to suit the requirements of the business. There will be 1 day release for college in term time.
The apprentice will work with and under the supervision of a qualified engineer as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
Daily duties will include:
Checking water tanks, refrigeration operating parameters and water softener salt levels.Checking fuel tank levels.Daily production walk round with the day shift engineer.Completing PPM maintenance tasks and attend all breakdowns with the day shift engineer as directed by the requirements of production.Recording all work tasks and spares requirements on our CMM’s – Shire (training on this system will be given).The candidate will also assist the site maintenance coordinator in the planning of maintenance work, the procurement of spares and updating the spares systems on a regular basis.Qualifications Required:All applicants must have achieved a minimum of 4 GCSEs (9-4 / A*-C) including English and Maths.
