Requirements

• This post involves regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate must join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. If you have spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of these checks.
• Salary will be in accordance with SNCT agreements. Applicants must be or be eligible for full GTC Scotland registration. For teachers qualified outside Scotland, visit GTCS - Qualified Outside Scotland for registration information.
• The grade for this position may be reviewed annually and adjusted in line with SNCT Handbook, effective from 1st August each year.
• Holding the Standard for Headship is a prerequisite for teachers taking up their first permanent headteacher post at local authority and grant-aided schools in Scotland from 1 August 2020, under Section 28 of the Education (Scotland) Act 2016. Exemptions apply for those appointed before this date or those appointed temporarily without the standard for headship for up to 23 months after this date.
