Job Title: Vehicle Technician - Apprenticeship Coach

The role

As a Vehicle Technician - Apprenticeship Coach, you will play a vital role supporting the British Army's equipment, managing a fleet of over 50,000 vehicles, from quad bikes to main battle tanks. Your daily responsibilities include visiting workplace learners, delivering training, coaching, assessing, and supporting them through their apprenticeships.

  1. Support, motivate, and coach learners, ensuring timely completion of apprenticeship components in line with regulatory requirements.
  2. Monitor and review learner progress according to customer expectations.
  3. Complete all necessary documentation accurately and on time.
  4. Advise learners on portfolio development based on program requirements.
  5. Record, plan, and track individual learner progress using appropriate paperwork and reporting tools.

This is a full-time, fully remote role, working 37 hours per week, with travel to sites in Tidworth, Lyneham, Warminster, Colerne, Larkhill, Bulford, and St Athan. Agile and flexible working options may be available; discuss these during the interview process.

Essential experience
  • Extensive experience in vehicle mechanics.
  • Understanding of work-based learning programs.
  • Experience in the defense sector, preferably within the army, is desirable but not essential.
Qualifications
  • Industry-related qualification (minimum Level 3 Vehicle Mechanic).
  • GCSE grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent).
Security Clearance

The successful candidate must obtain and maintain Enhanced DBS and Child Barring Service (EDBSCBL) security clearance. Certain roles may require additional security checks based on national security regulations.
