  • Bank Recovery Nurse
  • Bank Theatre Porter
  • Bank HCA Theatre / Day Surgery
Key Responsibilities for Each Role:
1. Bank Recovery Nurse for Day Surgery unit:
  • Patient Admission: Review pre-operative records, assess patients upon arrival, and complete documentation.
  • Recovery: Monitor vital signs, administer pain relief, manage post-surgical complications, and ensure full recovery from anaesthesia before discharge.
  • Discharge Planning: Provide post-operative instructions and guidance for home care, ensuring accurate completion of discharge documentation.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with anaesthetists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals.
Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse with active NMC registration.
  • Experience in recovery care, HDU, and ITU.
  • Experience in Day Surgery, including patient admission, discharge, anaesthesia recovery, and post-surgical monitoring of adults and paediatrics.
  • Strong communication and critical thinking skills.
2. Theatre Anaesthetic Nurse/ODP:
  • Pre-operative Assessment: Assist in patient preparation and pre-operative checks.
  • Anaesthesia Assistance: Prepare equipment and drugs, assist during induction and maintenance.
  • Monitoring: Monitor vital signs during surgery.
  • Post-anaesthesia Care: Assist in recovery, ensuring safe transition from anaesthesia.
  • Patient Safety: Maintain sterile environment and infection control.
  • Equipment Management: Ensure proper maintenance and availability of anaesthetic equipment.
Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse or ODP with relevant qualifications and active registration.
  • Experience in anaesthesia and theatre settings.
  • Excellent communication, attention to detail, and ability to remain calm under pressure.
3. Scrub Nurse (Theatre):
  • Sterile Technique: Maintain sterile environment and prepare instruments.
  • Speciality Assistance: Support surgeries such as Plastic Surgery, Dermatology, ENT, Gynaecology, General Surgery, Laparoscopy, and Minor Orthopaedics.
  • Post-operative Care: Dispose of instruments and assist in theatre sterilization.
  • Collaboration: Work with surgical team to ensure high standards of care.
  • Patient Monitoring: Assist in patient positioning and comfort.
Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse or ODP with active registration (NMC or HCPC).
  • Experience in theatre and sterile techniques.
  • Willingness to learn new procedures and work across multiple specialties.
4. Endoscopy Nurse:
  • Patient Preparation: Prepare patients and conduct pre-assessments.
  • Procedure Assistance: Support endoscopists, monitor vital signs, and ensure patient comfort.
  • Post-procedure: Monitor recovery, provide care instructions, and ensure stability before discharge.
  • Infection Control: Maintain strict hygiene and cleaning protocols.
Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse with active NMC registration.
  • Ability to work under pressure with excellent patient care skills.
Additional Roles:
5. Bank Theatre Porter:
  • Patient transportation, theatre setup, equipment management, cleanliness, assisting staff, stock control, safety compliance, and ad-hoc tasks.
Requirements:
  • Experience in hospital or theatre settings.
  • Knowledge of procedures and infection control.
  • Good communication, teamwork, and ability to handle pressure.
6. Bank HCA Theatre/Day Surgery:
  • Assist with patient prep, vital signs, support during surgery, post-surgery care, and maintaining sterile environment.
Requirements:
  • Experience as Healthcare Assistant, BLS certification, knowledge of surgical procedures, and good communication skills.
