Job description

Hill International is sourcing for a Civil Engineer based in London, UK for one of our oil and gas projects.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Civil Engineering.

Minimum 15 years general experience and experience in at least 1 similar project in a similar role.

Responsibilities
  1. Manage and co-ordinate the procurement process related to his discipline;
  2. In the event of a potential threat to the Project completion dates, identify remedial measures to correct and provide recommendations to the Project Director / Project Manager. Implement such measures, subject to the approval of the Company;
  3. Manage and co-ordinate the discharge of civil duties as defined in the contract agreements;
  4. Manage liaison by the project team with relevant statutory authorities and utility providers;
  5. Advise on site logistics related to civil engineering items;
  6. Provide expert opinion on design issues that arise;
  7. Monitor the results of the tests and agree suitable measures with the Project Team in the event that failures occur;
  8. Oversee timely and budget delivery of the overall design effort;
  9. Review design progress and verify correctness of progress recorded on a monthly basis;
  10. Review findings of value engineering workshops and provide comments;
  11. Review findings of buildability reviews and provide comments;
  12. Provide narrative and review progress and existing issues on the monthly report;
  13. Participate in design meetings with the Company and liaise on existing issues and provide alternative solutions;
  14. Advise and assist the Company through the Project Manager in obtaining the statutory and other licenses and permits necessary for the occupation and use of the Project.
