Job description

Risk and Compliance Manager

We are searching for an experienced Risk and Compliance Manager.

Make an Impact at RSM UK

At RSM, our consulting team brings together diverse advisory experts to deliver our six core solutions: business transformation, forensic, deal services, restructuring, finance function support, and risk and governance.

Our solutions address the unique needs, challenges, and opportunities our clients face as they strive to achieve their aspirations and organizational goals. Whether supporting global expansion, developing acquisition strategies, facilitating private equity investments, or collaborating with boards to manage risk and governance, our consulting experts work as one cohesive team. We prioritize simplicity, providing data-driven insights, value-added assurance, and high-quality execution to empower our clients in building sustainable, future-fit businesses.

It's an exciting time to join our consulting team, as we embark on ambitious growth plans that promise to create diverse career opportunities. We are committed to enhancing our six solutions, expanding and developing our team of expert consultants, embracing a digital-first approach, strengthening our global presence, and building strong client relationships.

With a new advisory service offering for our corporate sector (excluding financial services) related to risk, compliance, and regulation, we are looking for a Manager to join our team. The postholder will be an enthusiastic team player with an interest in legal compliance. This is a new role reporting to the Partner leading the service offering. You will have direct client contact, be involved in delivering projects, bid for new work, and support the development of thought leadership.

This role offers variety and opportunities for learning, development, and progression. If you are pragmatic, detail-oriented, and enjoy building client relationships, this could be a good fit.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Take ownership of delivering projects to high standards, within time and budget.
  • Define compliance requirements, document process flows, controls, and identify gaps.
  • Provide insightful, pragmatic, and risk-based recommendations to clients.
  • Manage and develop relationships with clients and within the firm, including attending and presenting at meetings and networking events.
  • Support business development activities such as targeting, proposal writing, and thought leadership.
  • Stay updated on developments in compliance, enterprise risk management, and regulation.
What We Are Looking For:

Are you someone who thrives on variety, loves learning, and enjoys connecting with people? If you can identify inefficiencies and are passionate about improvements, this role is ideal for you!

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A relevant degree, or certifications in legal, accounting, internal audit, compliance, or risk management.
  • Significant experience in compliance, risk management, or internal audit, either in-house or practice-based.
  • Excellent written skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels within the firm and with clients.
  • A collaborative approach, pragmatic problem-solving skills, and strong teamworking abilities.
What We Offer:

We value our people and offer a flexible rewards and benefits package:

  • Hybrid working model
  • 27 days holiday
  • Wellbeing benefits including financial tools, electric car scheme, and virtual GP access
  • Access to over 300 on-demand courses developed by our Talent Development team
