The Opportunity

Join our expanding Sizewell C (SZC) team to work on one of the UK's largest megaprojects, supporting the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy. Following the success of Hinkley Point C, SZC is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, with planning approval and government financing support, now in construction phase, seeking private investment. Once completed, it will supply reliable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, aiding Britain in achieving Net Zero by 2050.

The SZC PMO Programme Excellence and Innovation (PE&I) team is responsible for supporting and implementing organizational and program-specific business changes involving people, processes, and technology to deliver measurable benefits and stakeholder satisfaction. We are offering a fantastic opportunity for a PE&I Project Management Lead.

Our teams operate flexibly with a hybrid model of office and remote work, supported by full IT equipment for effective home working.

The Role

The Project Management Lead collaborates with SZC senior managers to initiate, analyze, plan, design, and implement non-BAU business change projects, ensuring smooth handover to BAU teams for adoption and benefits realization. This role manages the SZC PMO portfolio of complex programs and projects, overseeing prioritization, dependencies, and interfaces.

Reporting to the Head of Programme Excellence and Innovation, the role ensures best practices and governance are applied across the organization, driving innovation and sustainable change. The Lead provides strategic direction to the PE&I PM team, working with internal and external resources to deliver change initiatives and implementing benefits tracking to ensure value realization.

The Skills
  • Extensive experience leading business change programs/projects of varying complexity in regulated environments.
  • Proven leadership in managing teams and external consultants.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills at all levels.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of simplifying complex issues.
  • Experience with industry best practices and professional standards in change management.
  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field.
  • Professional certifications like APM, PMI, Lean Six Sigma preferred.
  • Experience with major infrastructure projects is desirable.
