Job Description:

An opportunity for a Business Development Director to work in the Technology, Media & Telecommunications sector to lead and grow a portfolio.

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Drive one major TMT business, alongside other accounts, to accelerate growth through creating and building relationships, originating and qualifying opportunities, and winning profitable revenue across all non-audit service lines at KPMG.
  • Develop your own network and relationships at the client, understand their issues, originate single service line opportunities, and work with Partners on cross-service solutions leading to multi-year, multi-million-pound programs.
  • Collaborate with the UK Sector Lead for TMT and the Global Lead Partner/Client Lead Partner on your accounts, supporting account strategy and opportunity optimization.
  • Lead relationship strategies, develop client relationships, identify gaps, and build strategies to strengthen these relationships.
  • Manage senior procurement relationships, lead negotiations, and support project teams in fee and T&Cs agreements.
  • Understand client priorities and sector trends to identify strategic opportunities, support proposals, and understand broader firm offerings.
  • Articulate KPMG’s advisory offerings and the value proposition effectively.
  • Work with the CLP to set account strategies and develop market awareness for KPMG solutions.
  • Drive collaboration across KPMG services and member firms to generate and respond to opportunities.
  • Support sales and marketing activities tailored to clients and engage in events.
  • Introduce innovative ideas and share best practices within the team.
  • Act as a sales leader, coaching colleagues to enhance their sales skills.
Client Relationships:
  • Spend time at client sites, in meetings, and calls, both in person and virtually.
  • Gather and share information on client issues, expand points of contact, and develop relationship maps and plans.
  • Lead development of relationships, including introducing specialists to win work.
  • Build peer relationships with senior management and develop Board and ExCo level relationships.
  • Coordinate client events, measure ROI, and act as a role model for business development.
  • Identify opportunities, deploy sales processes, and ensure activities align with account plans.
  • Act as a focal point for selling new propositions and add value through cross-functional solutions.
  • Maintain opportunity management systems and coach teams to increase win rates and profitability.
Key Measures:
  • Net sales, pipeline, new relationships, and account growth metrics.
  • Client and colleague feedback, interaction at senior levels, and insight delivery quality.
  • External profile, influence skills, and organizational resilience.
