Salary: Starting basic salary is £42,798 for the first year, automatically rising to £46,268 after one year.
Job description
The role also attracts a technical framework allowance and disruption allowance, which you’ll have the opportunity to apply for once your training is complete and you meet the technical qualifying criteria. By your second year as a fully trained and deployable property specialist, you may be able to earn £53,524, not including overtime or on-call payments.
Flexible working: This role is fully office-based due to the nature of the work involved. Once fully qualified, some flexibility or compressed hours could be considered depending on training and business requirements.

The Role
As a Maintenance Carpenter, your work will involve maintenance, repair, and construction within secure facilities, including hardening critical infrastructure and creating bespoke spaces across various properties. You will be responsible for creating technical drawings, selecting materials, and executing tasks to high standards while following strict security protocols.
An exciting aspect of this role is the potential for deployment within the UK on intelligence gathering operations, using your trade skills to directly contribute to national security.
This mostly Monday to Friday role may involve early starts, occasional evening work, and short-term or overseas deployments. Overtime and on-call payments are provided for extra hours worked.
About You
You should have a City & Guilds Level 2, BTEC, NVQ, or equivalent qualification in Carpentry and Joinery, and be comfortable using hand and power tools. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, proactive approach, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with colleagues and partners are essential. You must hold a full UK driving licence, maintain fitness levels, and have basic IT skills and report writing abilities.
