Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Accountant in Burnley within a Market Leading business. You will be supporting the Finance Manager in the recording of all day to day transactions and month end reporting duties.

What you'll do:

  • Support the Accountant/Accounts function in all aspects of the department
  • Handle general accounts administration such as dealing with correspondents, filing, and updating records
  • Manage Balance Sheet Controls
  • Oversee Credit Control operations
  • Perform account reconciliations regularly
  • Work towards continuous improvement of accounting processes and systems
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards

What you'll bring:

  • Proven background in accounts with a good understanding of the role
  • Experience working within the motor trade would be beneficial but not essential
  • AAT qualification would be preferable but not essential
  • Enthusiastic and meticulous approach to work
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with colleagues and clients
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
