Qualifications

Location: Kent Campus Hospital

Status: Full Time, 80 Hours

Shift: Days

Salary Range: $40.87 - $63.36 hourly

General Summary

Responsible for safely and properly delivering ionizing radiation to patients using external beam equipment as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist, following all written instructions, photographs, or diagrams concerning patient positioning, machine settings, auxiliary devices, and precautions. Expected to assist with quality assurance, dosimetry, simulation, and mold-room activities, ensuring a smooth and efficient treatment flow.

Responsibilities
  • Verify that all charges are correctly entered into the hospital information system for each patient under treatment.
  • Apply ionizing radiation following Radiation Oncologists’ prescriptions, perform daily equipment warm-up, and quality assurance checks according to departmental policies.
  • Review patient EMR for diagnosis, prescription, and treatment parameters; verify patient setup with initial and weekly portal films; document and review images as per policy.
  • Follow all prescriptions, notify Physics for conedowns and boost planning, complete setup instructions and digital photos, and perform scheduled check images.
  • Verify documentation in EMR before delivering each treatment.
  • Maintain treatment and nursing schedules for all patients.
  • Simulate patients using a CT-Simulator following prescriptions.
  • Perform daily equipment warm-up and quality assurance checks, ensuring billing documentation is complete.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within scope of responsibilities.
Required Education, Credentials, and Experience
  • Certificate Program in Radiation Therapy Technology or an Associate's Degree in Radiology.
  • Credential: Radiation Therapist, Basic Life Support, Registered Technologist in Radiation Therapy.
  • Preferred Experience: 1 Year.
