Job description

The latest addition to Dyson Farming's circular farming system is a 26-acre glasshouse in Carrington, Lincolnshire. It supports high-tech, sustainable farming in the UK, reducing food miles by producing strawberries locally, especially during the off-season.

Powered by renewable electricity and surplus heat from Dyson Farming's anaerobic digester, the glasshouse is 760m long, with 1456 rows of strawberries and 1,225,000 strawberry plants, producing approximately 1,250 tonnes of strawberries annually for British consumers.

Requirements

1. Carrying out QC checks on fresh produce strawberries.
2. Responsible for food safety and quality in the work area.
3. Assisting with site auditing programmes.
4. Supporting the Glasshouse Supervisor with daily operations to maintain high food safety and quality standards.
5. Performing hygiene inspections and daily checks.
6. Maintaining process records accurately.
7. Reporting any quality or food safety issues or concerns daily.
8. Assisting with waste control and reporting.
9. Performing other duties as required by the line manager.

Person Specification

1. Demonstrates a proactive attitude and commitment to food safety, quality, product integrity, and health and safety.
2. Exhibits excellent attention to detail.
3. Operates in compliance with high standards.
4. Previous experience in quality or technical roles within fresh produce is preferred.
5. Flexible towards shift patterns due to seasonal demands.
6. Committed to ongoing training and development.
7. Possesses good organisational skills.
8. Maintains a professional manner.
