Job description

As a Control Systems Engineer, you will provide support for major OFC Supervisory Control Systems (MIS, CACS, MACC & OASIS), associated sub-systems (SCADA, Mimics), and interfaces to site systems (Protos, NUMIS, LIMS). Your role includes analyzing, designing, and implementing software modifications to meet customer requirements.

The ideal candidate will hold a degree qualification, possess a software engineering background, and have practical knowledge of several programming languages, including C.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide first-line support for the OFC Control Systems.
2. Diagnose and resolve system problems, including performing recoveries after failures.
3. Guide plant management and operators in fault rectification.
4. Analyze user requirements and produce system specifications.
5. Implement software modifications and improvements.
6. Prepare and manage unit and system tests.
7. Maintain configuration management documentation.

Qualifications:

• Familiarity with system analysis and design methods, especially within Windows Server 2019 and above.
• Knowledge of older systems (e.g., VAX/VMS, Pascal) and development tools (e.g., Uniface), as well as communication protocols like TCP/IP, is advantageous.
• Experience supporting computer systems in a production environment with user contact.
• Knowledge of Systems Analysis & Design Methodology.
• Proficiency in programming, preferably in C.
• Understanding of test methodologies.
• Good timekeeping, accuracy, and a high standard of written English.
• Strong procedural discipline and ability to maintain accurate records.
