The Coinbase, Inc. Compliance Monitoring and Testing ("CMT") Group is an independent oversight function responsible for planning and executing testing and monitoring activities to assess whether processes and controls supporting the compliance framework are designed and operating effectively. The CMT Group maintains global policies and procedures for CMT activities across US and international entities, collaborating with Enterprise Risk Management, Compliance, Legal, Internal Audit, and other business functions.

The CMT Manager will support the Senior Manager in developing, managing, executing, and improving the CMT Program, focusing on processes and controls for international entities, as well as enterprise-wide processes for both US and international entities.

What you'll be doing (job duties):
  • Assist in designing, implementing, and enhancing enterprise-wide CMT Program methodologies and governance documents.
  • Develop a risk-based annual CMT plan in collaboration with Compliance teams across various functions.
  • Create periodic reports on CMT plan progress, results, and remediation status.
  • Manage assigned CMT activities throughout planning, execution, reporting, and issue remediation, escalating issues as needed.
  • Prepare reports on CMT outcomes and collaborate with stakeholders on root cause analysis and remediation plans.
  • Maintain issues and remediation documentation in a central repository.
  • Track and validate the implementation of remediation plans to ensure issues are addressed.
  • Participate in training and awareness initiatives related to the CMT Program.
  • Stay updated on regulatory developments and industry trends impacting Coinbase and the CMT Program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Extensive experience executing CMT programs, testing plans, and activities across financial services/products.
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, and risk management practices relevant to financial services.
  • Proven track record of delivering work on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
  • Hands-on experience developing metrics and reports.
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Motivated, analytical, organized, innovative, and adaptable.
  • Good presentation skills, multi-tasking ability, team-oriented, self-starter.
  • Experience working collaboratively with global partners.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours if necessary.
  • Ability to work independently when required.
  • Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau, SAS, Snowflake).
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint/Google Slides and Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related fields.
Nice to haves:
  • Experience monitoring/testing third-party vendors.
  • Keen interest or experience in cryptocurrency.
  • Experience with AML systems and programs, including KYC, AML, Sanctions.
  • Knowledge of financial services regulators.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CRCM, CAMS, CIA, CISA, CICA).
