Charge Nurse Acute Unit - Full-time

Monday thru Friday 10:00 am - 6:30 pm

Located in Plymouth, Indiana, in a rejuvenating wooded setting, Michiana Behavioral Health provides each patient with comprehensive behavioral health treatment from compassionate and caring staff. Our leadership is committed to making sure every patient in our care receives high-quality care that gets them back on track at school, work, and home.

The Charge Nurse will serve as the point person for the nursing staff and will function as a liaison between the unit and Nursing Managment. In addition, the Charge Nurse will collaborate with physicians and other department leaders to ensure seamless communication and coordination. Responsbilities include but not limited to:

  • Assigning responsibilities based on patient needs and work loads.
  • Overseeing patient admissions and discharges, including skin assessments, patient belongings, assigning patient rooms, and introduce/orient new patients to the unit.
  • Identify and acto to resolve problems as they occur, patient and staff issues, staff concerns, and patient grievances.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other department directors.
  • Supervise nursing staff and oversee to their needs.
  • Ensure patient observations rounds are being conducted correctly and timely;spot checks to be completed daily.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN) Job Requirements:

  • Current license to practice nursing in the State of Indiana - in good standing and not probationary.
  • BSN preferred.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience working in a psychiatric inpatient setting preferred.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents a plus.
