The Role:

My client is seeking a client-focused and enthusiastic Debt Recovery Lawyer to join their Bury office.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual looking to gain valuable experience and contribute to a high-performing team within a leading law firm.

The successful candidate will manage a caseload of debt recovery matters from inception to successful conclusion, ranging from routine to complex, for SME and owner-managed businesses, professional services providers, sole traders, and large corporates.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Meet, interview, and advise clients on the entire debt recovery process, including issuing Court proceedings, requesting judgment, and winding-up petitions.
• Work with internal colleagues and processes to obtain the best outcome.
• Research and critically analyse documents and case law to ensure accuracy of advice and procedure.
• Draft documents and correspondence tailored to clients' needs, aligned with current law and standards.
• Represent and negotiate for clients where required.
• Manage and coordinate all aspects of cases to meet deadlines and escalate where appropriate.
• Maximise professional contacts to gain new business and contribute to firm growth.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, referrers, stakeholders, and colleagues, enhancing the firm's reputation.
• Monitor and meet billing and time recording targets.
• Supervise, train, and mentor Solicitors, Legal Executives, and Paralegals, delegating work as appropriate.
• Comply with professional standards, including SRA principles, Lexel, CQS, and the Legal Services Commission.
• Maintain confidentiality of all client and firm information.
• Utilise available software to provide efficient, cost-effective service.
• Participate in personal development activities and stay updated with legal changes.
• Represent the firm positively in marketing activities.
• Perform any other duties that support the growth and development of the department and firm.
